Addressing people with their first names and “Sie” can also allow for communication without gender classification – by avoiding addressing people with “Frau” or “Herr”, the – in the scientific community unnecessary – reminder of gender classification isn’t always present. All of us decided on using our first names.<br>Especially during this seminar, during which we were focusing on the topic of gender and gender differentiation, the “Hamburg Sie” created the option to leave out our own gender affiliation (as far as possible).
